Vanity trove July 2013


Hello Gorgeous! After a super long hiatus from Vanity Trove (last buy was almost 1 yr ago), I finally decided to get another one of it. Vanity Trove has changed their way of business, and instead of sending everyone with the same samples across all boxes, they decided to allow customers to choose the samples from a pool of products to try. By filling in your beauty profile, VT helps to filter through all the products they have and narrow down the type of products suitable for you, from which you choose 6 items to fill up your own box.


To mark the change in VT, the box that your samples usually comes in has been changed from the usual white and bright pink to a more sophisticated mute peach color box.


As VT was having a $15 per box promotion going on to celebrate the change, I decided to give VT another go, and here's the 6 items I have picked for myself.

  6. Astalift Jelly Aquarysta (Sample)
  7. Astalift Essence Destiny (Sample)
I very much love this change in VT box. This way of getting a sample box as will mean that my box will always be filled with new things I truly wanted to try without anything going to waste. The shampoo has gone to my sister as it contains dimethicone, something I am allergic to.

Sorry that there will be no reviews for the items yet as I have only started using the eyeshadow and Dr.Ci:Labo Aqua-Collagen-Gel, but both items really meets my expectations, if not more! I definitely look forward to trying all of them!

The Little Black Beauty Box - Shiseido

Previously I bought a few boxes of Vanity Trove, but as I find the samples in Vanity Trove getting more and more uninteresting, I decided to look for other beauty boxes instead. After doing some research, I found the recently launched "The Little Black Beauty Box" (LBBB). A joint venture by mediacorp styleXstyle and Robinsons, each month, the LBBB delivers to your doorstep a box containing a variety of beauty products in a dedicated theme, all for just S$19.90 (free shipping in Singapore). Online reviews on the past boxes showed the boxes with reasonable sized samples from quite reputable brands, all for a lower price than Vanity Trove. So I decided to try out the August box which happens to be themed "Shiseido" a brand which I am a fan of.
