BH Cosmetics

BH Cosmetics Spree
After reading some UK blogs that highly recommended the Jenni Riveria eyeshadow palette from BH Cosmetics, I have been itching to try it out for myself. Thanks to Singsale, I managed to get my hands on some BHCosmetics without needing to deal with the shipping myself. So I have gotten a 24 pcs Synthetic Brush Set, the 10 Color Professional Blush Palette and the Jenni Riveria 36 Eyeshadow and Blush Palette. Shipping took ultra long, about 1.5 month.

24 pcs Synthetic Brush Set (SGD$40)
First up is the 24 pcs Synthetic Brush Set. According to the BH Cosmetic website, this set is for those just starting out in the makeup industry, in beauty school, or if you simply love creating different makeup looks. It includes all of the brushes you need to create an array of different looks. The brushes are made from 100% synthetic fibers, and they come in a fashionable reptile-pattern case that rolls up.

The Brush Set includes the following: Large Fan Brush, Skinny Fan Brush, Powder Brush, Highlighter Brush, Face Blending Brush, Angled Blush Brush, Angled Shadow Brush, Angled Shadow Blending Brush, Large Concealer Brush, Small Angled Eyeshadow Brush, Flat Eyeshadow Brush, Large Flat Eyeshadow Brush, Small Flat Eyeshadow Brush, Cream Blending Brush, Lip Brush, Angled Eyeliner Brush, Small Angled Eyeliner Brush, Precision Eyeliner Brush, Classic Eyeliner Brush, Small Smudge Brush, Small Concealer Brush, Dual-Sided Brow Brush and Lash Comb, Eyeshadow Sponge Brush, Spoolie Brush.

Amazing isn't it? $40 for 24 pcs of brushes, which boils down to less than $2 a brush. So is it worth it? Well, I do have mix reviews on the brush. The first time I tried the brush was with their own BH Cosmetics eyeshadow cause I reasoned, if anything should work, the brushes should work with their own family brand of cosmetics. Boy I was so wrong! The eyeshadow brush is soft to touch, but didn't managed to pick up much eyeshadow from the Jenni Riveria palette!

Despite the disappointment, especially after reading all the raves from the blogs and customer feedback which I didn't have the same sentiments, I tried the brushes again, this time with other eyeshadows from other brands, and viola! The brushes are really good especially the blending eyeshadow brush, which picks up color well and blends like a dream.

10 Color Professional Blush Palette (SGD$17)

Next up is the 10 Color Professional Blush Palette. This is actually the first time I have picked up a blush with colors differing from my usual comfort zone of baby pink. It contained a beautiful bouquet of hues, from plush peaches and jazzy pinks to intense reds, blooms in both creamy mattes and iridescent shimmers. I particularly like the top muted brown shade which doubles up as a bronzer really well. Unlike the eyeshadows from Jenni Rivera palette, the blushes are very pigmented and requires a very light hand.

Jenni Rivera 36 Color Eyeshadow & Blush Palette (SGD$21)
An exclusive makeup palette developed by the #1 Latin Singer sensation Jenni Rivera and premier cosmetics brand BHCosmetics. It consists of 30 eyeshadows and 6 blushes.

Jenni Rivera palette
At first glance, the colors of the palette looks quite amazing in the pan. The eyeshadows are mostly with shimmer, with a few matte ones, and the blushes are intensely pigmented. The blushes color are more accurate in the image from BH Cosmetics, while the eyeshadow colors are more accurate in the photos taken by me.

The eyeshadows and blushes are housed in a flimsy plastic well glued to the outer palette casing, and can be heard to shake when you hold the palette. The palette is huge and comes with a large mirror for the ease of applying makeup, but I cannot foresee anyone bring such a huge palette around!

Overall, the eyeshadows are sheer and can be slowly built up, and the color picks up properly only with my fingers, which makes it hard for precise application. The blushes are more to the dark reddish tone, and pigmentation is very good. So apply with a light hand. All in all, the palette is passable, but not a must have especially if you need to go through so much hassle to get it.

Sleek i-Divine Palettes

After learning of this brand called Sleek  some years ago, I have been trying to get my hands on their wonderful well pigmented, vivid colored and cheap eye palettes. Thanks to Luxola , I am able to enjoy products from Sleek without having to go through all the hassle of shipping it from UK. I first started out my collection with the Au Naturel palette, after which I went on to buy the Oh So Special from some blog sale. Just within a year, my Sleek eye palette collection grew and so I would like to share some swatches and thoughts of the palettes. The Body Shop Camomile Makeup Remover

The Body Shop has just launched a new series of makeup removers, comprising of two eye makeup remover, oil, butter and muslin cloth. All the products are made with Community Fair Trade Camomile Oil. Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter, Muslin Cloth, Waterproof Eye and Lip Make-up Remover Out of the five new products, I bought three to try, namely the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter, Muslin Cloth and Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-up Remover. Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter The Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter comes in a metal tin which screws on/off. In the tin, it looks like a hard block of white butter. Germ phobes will definitely complain that this is the most unhygienic way of storage, and to overcome this problem, just use a spatula to scoop the butter up for use. My thoughts on the cleansing butter: I really love this cleansing butter! It smells super nice with a flowery scent, does not contain any mineral oil (ahem... I'm looking at you Faceshop &
